How does the Kenwood eXcelon ddx9906xr work?
The buttons on the front work, but they’re just an entry point into the clumsy screen layouts. The tuner interface is a mess. The volume up, when held, will stop about halfway at 15 and then you have to keep clicking it over and over to get it to go higher. The sounds was good, the screen was pretty, but usability is everything.
Is the Kenwood eXcelon a good car radio?
Maybe they’ll fix it with future firmware updates .. one can hope. Very disappointing for an almost $1k Kenwood deck. Best radio out there!!!! Very great head unit, apple car play and android auto work flawlessly wirelessly and wired.
Is the Kenwood eXcelon high def screen responsive?
Bluetooth apple CarPlay connection works well. Screen resolution is fantastic and capacitive touch screen is very responsive. The only thing I have seen that keeps this from 4 stars is that every once in awhile, the unit reboots on its own. It fit perfectly in my 2014 Honda Civic.
