How much de do I use? The commonly-accepted value is 1.25 lbs/10 ft2″. This equates to 2 ounces per 1 square foot of filter area. It is very important to put in the correct amount of D.E: too little D.E. will result in dirt, oils and other debris being embedded into the grids, ruining them. Can a pool filter be too big?
