What is the power output of a Kenwood ts-870?
What is the power output of a Kenwood ts-870?
Discussion in ‘ Ham Radio Discussions ‘ started by N2YG, Jul 7, 2020 . I have a Kenwood TS-870 that has very low power output — for example, less than 30W on 10M.
What should DC voltage be on Kenwood 870?
Here’s the thing about an 870 though (I have two of them)… measure your DC voltage while you’re trying to transmit. If you are much below 13V your power output will go south in a hurry. Try just making sure you have 13.8V while transmitting..
Why is my PWR not working on my Kenwood 870?
One hint is that the ALC indication on the display, at any power setting on CW is always maximum. And, on SSB, with any minimum audio input at the MIC, it also goes to fastly to max. Any hint on what could be happening? Thanks! I just went thru alignment on an 870. Before entering the alignment menu the Car and Pwr are at max.
Can you control the gain on a Kenwood TX?
I can control it but, for example, on 14MHz, minimum is 10W but maximum goes to 150W. On other bands, power reaches close to 200W. So I have adjusted, on service menu A1, ALC reference voltage level to 2.7V (was already really close), have set power output (A7, A8, A9, AA) to 100, 50, 25 and 10W. All OK.
Why is my Kenwood ts870 not working properly?
Good luck. You might also want to check the voltage on that TS870 regardless of what the other Kenwood does. You could have bad molex pins reducing the voltage. See what your load is with that power cord and then see about a different cord.
What’s the maximum power of a Kenwood ts-870s?
I am dealing with a curious problem on a TS-870S. It generates too much power output. I can control it but, for example, on 14MHz, minimum is 10W but maximum goes to 150W. On other bands, power reaches close to 200W.
