Why do I hear a vibrating sound in my house?

How long does it take for the vibration to go away?

I admit one outlet is overused and it is on that wall, right next to our bed that this vibration continues to occur. It kept us up all night. At shakes the windows and wall and sounds very mechanical. It lasts for maybe one second or two and seems to happen in a cluster and will go on for 10 or 15 minutes.

Where does the buzzing sound come from in my house?

This has happened in our home 3 times in the past month. Every time it is windy outside. The buzzing/drilling sound happens 2-4 times only a couple seconds each time then stops. Sounds like it is coming from upper wall/ceiling. Indianapolis, IN someone figure this out! I’ll check back.

The front room floor does feel like its vibrating but perhaps the noise I am hearing gives the suggestion of vibration (sounds like a bus engine idling in distance or the throb of engine when you are on a ferry but very low level). At night when all is quiet it’s horrendous as there are no other noises to mask it.
