Reformation’s mission is to bring sustainable fashion to everyone. There are people behind the clothes we make, and we put them first. Too often garment workers are subject to terrible conditions. That’s why we built our own factory in Los Angeles, where we work with awesome people from all over the world.

Reformation was created, in 2009, by Yael Aflalo, a former model whose parents owned a clothing store in downtown Los Angeles. She started her first fashion line, called YaYa, in 1999, at the age of twenty-one.

Up to 5% of our products are made out of “deadstock” fabrics. We buy verified old, leftover, and over-ordered fabric from other designers and fabric warehouses. This allows us to reuse and divert these materials from the landfill and into your closet.

Girlfriend Collective’s environment rating is ‘good’. It uses a medium proportion of eco-friendly materials including recycled materials. However its use of eco-friendly materials reduces its climate impact and limits the amount of chemicals, water and wastewater used in production. Its labour rating is ‘great’.

Are Reformation clothes worth it?
Was this Reformation dress worth it? Maybe not full price, but if you can get it on sale, like at Nordstrom, it definitely is. If the style is timeless, and you love it, it’s worth it… but keep in mind that although the Ref is more environmentally friendly, it does not mean that their dresses are forever quality.
