Who is Mills & Company?
The area, known for it’s impressive whaling and oyster fleets, was in need of a master sailmaker and thus William J. Mills & Company was born. With the introduction of steam and gasoline powered engines at the turn of the 20th Century, William J Mills recognized that the days of a commercial fleet powered by sails were short lived.
Who makes canvas accessories for the Boston Whaler?
Until Boston Whaler was sold in 1997, Wm. J. Mills & Co. was the sole supplier of canvas accessories for all Whaler® models and we still supply those classic designs worldwide. Over the years,we have designed specialized procedures and hardware for installing our Whaler® canvas parts, including struts, straps, hinges, and clips.
