Are BurstBucker pickups any good?
These are great pickups, they are standard on my Gibson Les Paul Standard model. They are hot enough and dynamic enough to play many different kinds of music, really good for rock, classic rock, blues rock, etc. I think some reviewers here have pickups that they bought used and just think they are BB pros.
What is the difference between a humbucker and a BurstBucker?
Gibson makes many different humbuckers. There is no model called ‘normal’, ts. A burstbucker is a humbucker, just the name. I don’t now much about them but they are used for heavier music sometimes, although they have different types.

Are Gibson humbuckers wax potted?
Gibson pickups are wax potted to eliminate microphonic feedback. Vintage-style pickups tend to have lower output and a smoother tone, while many high-output modern designs—created to overdrive guitar amps with a hotter signal—trade clarity for increased punch and howling distortion.
Do Les Paul Customs sound better?
You also have different pickups on each model and this, largely speaking, is where you’ll notice the biggest difference. The Custom model sounds darker than the Standard which makes it an obvious choice for metal players. On top of this, the Gibson Les Paul Custom is quite a bit heavier than the Les Paul Standard.
