From what I’ve been told, its a brand that’s kinda big in America, and the quality isn’t too poor. Like, its no Hoya, but for its price its worth it. The binoculars in particular seem to be a whole level above.

Do UV filters actually do anything?

How can you tell a fake BW filter?
Here’s how to spot a counterfeit:
- My counterfeits had a little shiny green sticker on them that said “Genuine Product.” The real B+W filters have a silver hologram Schneider sticker on them, along with a scanable QR code to verify authenticity.
- Counterfeits have lightweight aluminum filter rings.
Why did you choose ProMaster?
I’ve had great experience with the Promaster. If find it comfortable to drive, it has plenty of power and seems to ride better the more stuff you put in it and the heavier it is! It’s remarkably agile for such a large vehicle. The only issue I’ve had was a faulty airbag sensor that happened right after I purchased it.
Are ProMaster UV filters any good?
Promaster doesn’t make its own filters so the quality can vary. I’ve got a Promaster UV on one of my lenses and can’t fault it. Today I spent way too much money on a way too big lens. I LOVE it! polarizing lens (wanted to get one anyway). The ONLY filters they carry is Promaster.

as Bill says, Promaster doesn’t make its own filters. I have their multi-coated UV filters, which are made by Hoya, with the UV glass being made in Japan and the filter is assembled in the Philippines. I noticed my Hoya multi-coated filters are made in Japan, and an inexpensive Hoya UV I picked up is made in the Philippines.
Does ProMaster use Hoya as their filter manufacturer?
I may be assuming too much here but if you look at the Promaster HGX versus the Hoya HD Filters they are very similar. Both have the same packaging and both have the same technology. It is very possible Promaster uses Hoya as their filter manufacturer.
Who makes prompromaster lenses and filters?
Promaster lenses are made by Tamron, and some of the flashes are made by Vivitar and Sigma, I know that much. As far as the filters, it depends on which one you’re looking at. Some are Hoya, some are Tiffen.
