I also want to control the receiver via WIFI from mobile devices. I plugged in an ethernet cable from the stereo directly to the router and now i cannot get the receiver to access media content. I have not tried a remote function.
How to connect your Yamaha to your network?
Fortunately you didn’t bend the pins enough to make it not work. Others reading this please don’t do this…make sure the connector that goes into your network port has 8 wires and is wider than a normal phone plug. I have previously connected my receiver to my motorolla router via the wireless network adapter.
Can a Yamaha RJ45 connect to an Ethernet network?
Doesn’t support ethernet though. It does fit but not correctly. You end up mashing the the 1 and 8 pins and likely the 2 and 7 pins. This will make the port unusable by a correct RJ45 unless you can bend them back to the right position.
Can a Yamaha rx-v575 connect to a Roku TV?
My Yamaha RX-V575 supports Dolby D+ on paper too. In practice, when connected to TCL Roku TV 49S405, audio signal drops each time video steam switches to a commercial, for example. I had to switch the receiver input to something else and back to AV4 to reestablish audio.
I also want to control the receiver via WIFI from mobile devices. I plugged in an ethernet cable from the stereo directly to the router and now i cannot get the receiver to access media content. I have not tried a remote function.
Why is my Yamaha rx-a740 not working?
Frustrated I went out and bought a new receiver, Yamaha RX-A740 which has both wired and wifi built in. Issue still happening via it’s wireless and ethernet connection. Also have to note that the network dropout occurs on both receivers when I stream music using Apple Airplay via my laptop.
Can a Roku TV connect to an Onkyo receiver?
It should work. I have mine connected using an Onkyo receiver. On occasion, the ARC signal doesn’t make a proper connection to the receiver and I have to reboot the Roku TV to initiate handshake. But 98% of the time, it works as it should. Double-check the Yamaha user’s manual to see if you’re not missing a setting or something.
