Are trailer tents allowed on Caravan Club sites?
Trailer tents, folding campers and pop-tops are all welcome on Caravan and Motorhome touring sites.
Are gazebos allowed on Caravan Club sites?
5.23 – Campfires are not permitted on our Club sites. 5.24 – Site teams may instruct campers to take down their awnings, gazebos and windbreaks on safety grounds should it be deemed necessary. 5.25 – If you use a gas cylinder, it must be 15kg or less and must be stored within your unit’s designated storage compartment.
What is a pup tent on a caravan site?
A pup tent is a small tent pitched alongside the main unit, often used for storage or pets. Policies on pup tents vary – some sites accept them free of charge, some charge extra for them, and others don’t allow pup tents at all.

What are CL and CS sites?
Certified Locations (CL – Caravan and Motorhome Club) and Certificated Sites (CS – Camping and Caravanning Club) sites are independently owned and can accommodate up to 5 units – caravans, motorhomes, or tents.

Folding campers usually have a base unit that looks like the bottom half of a caravan complete with cooker, sink, fridge and a washroom with toilet. Because the entire tent is supported on the trailer, no pegging is necessary. Inside these can be just as luxurious as a caravan and even offer more space.
What is a day tent?
A day room tent is a great idea for camping trips, large windows and doors mean you can use it as a kitchen, dining room and playroom for young ones. Easy to put up with removable groundsheet and mesh door panels for keeping out the insects.
Can you sleep in a pup tent?
Dogs can sleep in tents as they can adapt well to new sleeping environments. The tent should offer your dog shelter, proximity, and security. They may sleep with you inside the tent or prefer outside where it’s cooler. There are also pop-up travel dog tents for a dog to have its own space.
What size tent is classed as a pup tent?
Pup Tents: Pup tents are free, but do need to be booked and count as a pitch extra. Please be aware that Pup tents can be no larger than 2 x 1.5m, and may only be used by up to two children from 9 years to 15 years of age, and must be erected within the confines of the pitch of the original unit.
What is the difference between the Caravan and Motorhome Club and the Camping and Caravanning Club?
The Camping and Caravanning Club is smaller than The Caravan Club, offering under half of the latter’s sites. Accommodating a large range of member units, including small tents to large caravans and motorhomes, the organisation caters to all types of camping holidays.
