Thespian’s Stage is activated, targeting Dark Depths. When that ability resolves, Thespian’s Stage is now a copy of Dark Depths. Because the controller of both of these permanents now controls two Legendary permanents with the same name, he or she immediately chooses one of them to put into his graveyard.
Can thespian’s stage copy legendary land?
As Thespian’s Stage copies the land, you need to choose one as part of the Legend rule to keep. There’s no time between to change the original land to something else.

Stifle can target both of them, but it doesn’t do anything meaningful against the triggered ability. Once Stifle resolves, Dark Depths’s state-based trigger will see that [card]Dark Depths[/card] still doesn’t have any ice counters on it and there is no instance of itself on the stack, so it will trigger again.
Can dark depths be your commander?
Dark Depths can be played in any commander deck since it has a colorless color identity.
How does Vesuva work with dark depths?
If you play a Vesuva and have it come in as a copy of [card]Dark Depths[/card], then the Vesuva will come into play with 10 ice counters as well (regardless of how many are currently on the one on the battlefield). It also means that if you play another [card]Dark Depths[/card], the Legend Rule will kick in.
