How is homework good for us?

There is a link between homework and academic achievement. The time you spend on doing homework will develop more than academic skills alone. Homework sessions encourage you to use your time wisely, work independently and engage better with the subject matter. It will also improve your memory and critical thinking.

Has the amount of homework increased?

Many national studies say kids are doing more homework than ever before. Research at the University of Michigan shows the amount has more than doubled. In 1981, students ages 6 to 8 did about 52 minutes of homework a week. That increased to 128 minutes in 1997.

Does the bell or teacher dismiss you?

In the end, the teachers do not dismiss the students the bell does. It would be like the teachers having a set time to leave, but students overrule that time and decide when it is necessary. Teachers would not like this idea just like students do not like the idea of having a bell and no freedom.
