For long-term storage it’s typically recommended to store your generator without any gasoline in it. Although removing the gas is highly recommended, you can store the generator with the gas inside if you use a stabilizer to prevent corrosion.

How long can gas sit in generator?

A 250-gallon propane tank for stationary units can run 8 to 15 days. Before refueling a gasoline unit, however, you’ll need to turn it off and let it cool. Splashing gas on the hot exhaust, near the spark plug, or elsewhere on a running generator could easily start a fire.

Can a gas generator run in the rain?
