Is Sea Cadets part of the Navy?
Sea cadets are members of a sea cadet corps, a formal uniformed youth organisation for young people with an interest in water borne activities and or the national navy. The organisation may be sponsored in whole or in part by the navy or a naval supporter’s organisation.
How old do you have to be to be a Sea Cadet?
When can you join? You can join as a Junior Cadet when you are 10, and enjoy summer camps and making new friends as you head towards becoming a Sea Cadet at 12, or Royal Marines Cadet at 13.

Do you salute sea cadet officers?
Salute all officers who are close enough to be recognized as officers. It is unnecessary to identify an officer by name; however, ensure that he/she is wearing the uniform of an officer. Salute properly and smartly. Avoid saluting in a casual or perfunctory manner.
Do Sea Cadets do Shooting?
CCRS promotes and organises marksmanship and competitive shooting across the four cadet youth organisations: Combined Cadet Force; Sea Cadet Corps and the Royal Marine Cadets; Army Cadet Force; and the Royal Air Force Air Cadets. Basic shooting instruction and training is completed within cadet units.

Do you salute a coffin?
Non-commissioned ranks do not salute each other, only those who hold the Queen’s Commission (officers). Standards, Guidons and Colours, the coffin in funeral processions, the Cenotaph and members of the Royal Family (or Governors/Ministers to whom they delegate authority) are also saluted by the Armed Forces.
