I have to sell my awesome campervan since I’ll be flying away from North America soon. It’s a 1984 ITASCA Phasar (similar to Winnebago LeSharo) with a little less than 100,000km. I bought it in Montreal, and drove across Canada and more than 20 USA states for over 4 months of an amazing road-trip.

It has dual nautical batteries replaced by new last year and brand new front tires. The inside has 4 seats at the front a 2 2-seater couches at the back that convert into 2 double beds. It has a sink, propane stove, electric fridge, toilets, shower.
Is the Itasca Phasar the same as the Winnebago LeSharo?
The Winnebago Lesharo and Itasca Phasar are the same vehicle. I’ve heard that the Phasar is the Plush Sister to the Lesharo. I have not seen that myself.

What kind of engine does an Itasca Phasar use?
The Renault J7T engine used in these motorhomes is well known for it’s reliability. The key to these engines is maintenance. Oil must be changed, valves must be adjusted, etc. The weakest link is the auto transmission w/final drive (differential). They have to be maintained and driven wisely…shifting manually before it’s lugging it’s A– off.
How much does it cost to convert a Winnebago to a 4 cylinder engine?
There is a place in Montana that converts them to Chrysler 4 cylinders engines but charges a whopping $14,000 to $16,000 to do it! Ah, no way. Does anyone know anything about these vehicles?
