Lossy Formats Images: RAW, BMP, and PNG are all lossless image formats. JPEG and WebP are lossy image formats. How to create a WAV file?
Launch your sound recorder. Select Start > Programs > Accessories > Entertainment > Sound Recorder.
Set sound recorder properties. The first thing we will do is establish the properties for the sound recorder,to ensure your .wav file is in the correct format.
Select Properties from the File menu.
Click the Convert Now button.
Settings: Leave the .wav file Format: setting as PCM. Confirm that the Sound Selection Attributes are; 8.000 kHz,16 Bit,Mono,15 kb/sec.
Type Fastmetrics. Then click OK.
Click OK again.
Click OK again. The sound properties for the .WAV file format have now been saved into a profile named “Fastmetrics”.
Record your greeting. This process can be repeated as many times as you like.
Select Save As from the File menu.
Enter the name you will be giving the .wav file. Then click the Change button.
Open the drop down list at the top left of the window by clicking the downward pointing arrow.
Select the item named Fastmetrics. Then click OK.
Click the Save button. You are finished with the recording process.
How can I convert the .WAV?
Hit the Convert/Save button and a new Convert dialogue box will appear.
Click on the drop-down box next to the Profile section.
Select the resultant audio format. By default,MP3 (MP4),Vorbig (OGG),FLAC,MP3 and CD formats are present in the drop-down list.
