Bright Gold has the appearance of fine 18 karat gold jewelry. Metallic overglazes are nearly opaque, and should be used over clear glazed surfaces, or lightly colored overglaze compatible glazed surfaces for best results. Duncan’s metallic overglazes are packed in a 2 gram vials.

Is Duncan mother of pearl microwave safe?
Work in a well-ventilated area when applying to your piece. Duncan Overgalzes are dinnerware safe but ware decorated with metallic overglazes should not be used in microwave ovens. Although overglazed ware will take repeated washings in a dishwasher, the overglaze will eventually wear away.

Use a clean, dry, soft bristled brush. Saturate the bristles with overglaze and work out the excess. Use firm, even strokes one next to the other. Apply as evenly as possible.

Is gold luster toxic?
Application Safety. Use a properly fitted respirator that blocks fumes during application, and work in a ventilated space with plenty of airflow. Luster has toxic fumes when it’s in liquid form.
Is gold luster microwave safe?
Items with gold luster should not go in the microwave. Hand washing is recommended to extend the life and beauty of the glazes.
Can I Refire a glazed piece?
Since these firings need a lack of oxygen in order for the glazes to develop, you can’t refire them in an oxidation firing (electric kiln) or all the reduction you did will be reversed. Reduction and Raku glazes may or may not look good re-fired in oxidation, but they will probably look different.
