Sheekey has been one of our two top-favourite restaurants for years. They have just completed a very nice refit and update, and absorbed the Atlantic Bar in the process. All good. The food is excellent and full of nuanced flavours and the same great staff are back after lockdown. Problem is the lighting.

We are celebrating our milestone 125 anniversary with a limited-edition 125 Platter and, of course, our much-loved classics. J. Sheekey is a renowned seafood restaurant located in the heart of theatre-land.

What’s wrong with the Sheekey?

Problem is the lighting. It used to be subdued in the evening, but the famous Sheekey nuance stays only with the food. It used to be a great venue for date night. Last night, at 10pm, we almost needed sunglasses. They’ve installed high wattage recessed LED lights everywhere and it’s brighter than daylight.
