Why does my airconditioner keep running?
Why does my airconditioner keep running?
One of the most common reasons an air conditioner runs constantly is restricted airflow. Your AC needs a certain amount of airflow in order to supply your home with cool air. If something is blocking the airflow to your AC, your system will run longer in an effort to bring in a sufficient amount of air.
Is it better to replace the coil or the whole AC unit?
The weaker the coils, the more prone they are to developing refrigerant leaks. And once you have a refrigerant leak, it’s usually more cost effective to completely replace the coil or entire unit than to repair the leak and recharge the unit with more refrigerant (especially if your AC takes R-22 refrigerant).
Is it better to repair or replace the evaporator coil?

Why does the coil on my Atty keep changing?
Changed the atty later on, the old one was badly gunked up. So it looks like a combo of everything caused the problem, but mostly being knocked over probably moved the coil.
Why does my coils resistance ( ω ) keep changing?
Usually debris; juice, condensation, gunk, whatever, will create a false reading. I agree with the bad connection suggestion…my heads are also from DV and one out of the 5 pack I got didn’t seat all the way down into the Protank base and the connection was wonky when I put it on some of my devices …
Is it better to replace the whole unit or just the coils?
Replacing the whole unit is also better when the repair bill to fix the coils is too expensive. There are some instances where repairing your air conditioner is the better choice. Often if your unit is under ten years old, you can get away with just replacing the coils.
Do you have to replace both indoor and outdoor coils?
If your outdoor coil fails, you have to replace it with a unit that’s at least 14 SEER. If your old indoor coil isn’t compatible with any of the new 14+ SEER units, you have to replace both.
When is it time to replace the AC coils?
SEER refers to the efficiency rating of your AC. Even if your air conditioning unit is only 8 or 9 years old, it’s more efficient to replace the entire AC for several reasons. First, the coil you need is probably obsolete. At this age, changing just the coil is like replacing the engine in your dying car.
What happens if you replace only the evaporator coil?
In some situations, replacing just the evaporator coil means it will “mismatch” your condenser (the outside unit). And if the condenser and evaporator mismatch in either age, SEER or refrigerant, you’re going to run into problems like: High energy bills.
