RY651 does the actual switching of the main transformer and the “AC Outlets”. RY651 is driven by transistor Q652. Q652 is triggered by the CPU to turn on or to auto-turn off when protect mode has kicked in. Would the schematics of this standby power supply be of help?

How can I get Dolby Digital on my Yamaha RX v659?
Since everything has gone HDMI all it needs to do is take SPDIF optical signals and pump out Dolby Digital/DTS (or whatever) to 5.1 of the connected 7.1 speakers and I’d be happy. Instead it is only getting stereo or mono signals, and sending them out the centre and two surround speakers (and LFE I think).
